#MyrtleMondays: Myrtle honored by Junior Library Guild!

First up, I want to say a huge thanks to all the independent bookstores who hosted events during In Myrtle Peril’s launch month! We had a magnificent time, and if you didn’t have a chance to tune in to our virtual chats, you can still catch them at the following links. And as you’re doing your holiday shopping, please consider picking up your signed copy (with bookplate) from these vendors.

And now the news!

It arrived in a plain brown envelope, with no fanfare, slipped into the mailbox unannounced. Inside was a surprise—two small blue envelopes, and a Mysterious Object that went flying across the room when I opened it. What was this?

This magnificent surprise turned out to be a wonderful honor! Junior Library Guild has named both Premeditated Myrtle (Myrtle Hardcastle Mysteries #1) and How to Get Away with Myrtle (Myrtle Hardcastle Mysteries #2) as Gold Standard Selections!

Not only does the honor come with a gold seal—it comes with a lapel pin! Have I been inducted into a Secret Society of mysterious, arcane powers? If I wear my lapel pin to the library and catch the eye of another lapel pin wearer, will I be shown to the Top Secret Stacks where they keep the Really, Really Amazing Books? Is there a secret handshake?! I don’t know yet, but you can be sure Myrtle and I will have our pins on, just in case, from now on!

Thanks, Junior Library Guild!
